Last week my daughters and I were doing a puzzle. It is a habit that I want to create with them. We enjoyed the moment, we use it as a relaxing moment, stress-free; it's a quality time for us.
While my hubby was playing online with his buddies... having a blast. The only thing he did was asked us to get him a glass of water, he was so tired "of running" in his war game... Do you know about "shooting" people, camping, and gimping? that's the only thing I hear him say ...or scream sometimes. Can you believe all that stuff makes him "exhausted"? What's the fun about that? I don't know, you can ask him...please let me know.
Take a peek of what we did.
Ta Da!!
Yesterday we started another puzzle, stay tuned for the reveal.
I’m going to take this opportunity to say “Thank you” to those people that has been following me on this blog during this almost two years.
Thank you VERY much!
Why should people support handmade?
I personally buy handmade because that motivates me to sell more and set my goals, is the reward that I allow myself through my efforts. I know new people and establishing new friendships. And I know that behind this product is a human being who performs it with affection.
It helps many families who have lost their jobs and even those who for one reason or another can not go out to work as a disability.
Did you know that mass production is a major cause of global warming and the poisoning of our air, water and soil? Every item you make or purchase from a small-scale independent artist or crafter strikes a small blow to the forces of mass production.
The recipient of the handmade gift receives something that is one of a kind, and made with care and attention that can be seen and touched. It is the result of skill and craftsmanship that is absent in the world of large-scale manufacturing.
If you buy online you got the chance to avoid the parking lots and long lines of the big chain stores in favor of something more meaningful. In another hand when you buy at a small business crafts you feel the satisfaction of supporting an artist or crafter directly.
Of course at the same time you’re helping local shops and the economy of your community. Provide role models to families whom have low income, so they can develop their own business. Try to buy handmade products that come with little packaging, so you will also cut down on waste production and energy use!
And believe it or not you can buy things that you won't find in any other place. You can get goodies according to your home decor. Photos above are just a few handmade things I have bought online.

What? You want to know about me? I’m an Interior Designer, 34 years old (shh don’t tell anybody). I’m a mom. Married, I have three beautiful girls, a Rock Star husband that he thinks he can fly (He likes Superman) My hubby says I’m like a termite...because I love wood :D. Of course, I’m a crafter since I remember. I remember selling some knotted bracelets made by me and my cousin; I used to sell them at school when I was just 9 years old.
I have two cutie pies named Toto and Po (our guinea pigs) and our red betta fish called Max, you know “Betta Max”…old school ;-)
I have one brother and one sister. I’m the sandwich daughter LOL, they are all amazing persons, very creative.
What inspires me?
Nature inspires me, organic shapes, flowers, birds, owls, leaves, I also enjoy vintage patterns. Clean lines, contemporary designs. Bauhaus. I don’t like busy patterns or antique styles, sorry that’s just me.
