::Tips and Tricks:: for bruises, burns and more...

As you can see, I love to learn new tips and share them with you, someone told me the other day "you are the Queen of Tips", know who you are ;D

I bring you more new tips for this week:

  • Splinter remover - Just pour a drop of Elmer's Glue all over the splinter. Let dry and peel the glue off the skin in the direction of entry.
  • Vinegar to heal bruises - Soak a cotton ball in white vinegar and apply to the bruise for 1 hour. The vinegar reduces the blueness and speed up the healing.
  • Get right of unsightly toenail fungus - by soaking your toes in Listerine mouthwash. This powerful antiseptic leaves your toenails looking healthy again.
  • Colgate toothpaste makes an excellent salve for minor burns.
  • Rainy day cure for dog odor. - Next time your dog/cat comes in from the rain, simply wipe them down with Bounce or any other dryer sheets.

Eco Tips: Paper Napkins

This week I was watching TV and I found a show dedicated to investigating and exposing the cost of living and how it affects our planet.

But this time it was related to paper napkins, It was shocking and insane!... the production of paper causes many harmful effects to our environment, so I decided to share these videos with you. Let's see what you think, shall we?

3 million of trees are cut each year.

Paper processing companies dump toxic chemical into rivers and to the air.

The higher postconsumer content the better (like 90%), choose non-chlorine napkins (no bleached)

Solutions to the problem:
- Use organic cotton or hemp cloth napkins. You will save money and lot of trees.
- Buy paper napkins made of post consumer products. The higher post consumer content the better
- Write a letter to your local congressman to change the regulation to the paper processing company
- Plant trees... lot of trees.

Member of the week... Tumbleweedstudios

From her profile:

I am Susana, a proud mom and wife who works at home. I am a Digital Artist and I have had my studio for over three years. I have been into the arts since I ever remember. I grew up among artists which include my grandfather, my dad, my uncle, my sister, my cousins, etc. I come from a family full of painters, musicians, interior designer, art dealer and gallery owners and home decorating related business owners. I have spent a lot of my childhood, teen years and adult years in the art gallery scene, being my dad the owner of one.

So, I have been tumbling around the arts for a very long time.

I am now a professional digital artist who specializes in the giclée making for artists and galleries as well as for myself.

I am also a crafter and an explorer. I am elaborating my jewelry designs and I have started to add some of them.
