Handmade wants you!

I’m going to take this opportunity to say “Thank you” to those people that has been following me on this blog during this almost two years.

Thank you VERY much!

Why should people support handmade?

I personally buy handmade because that motivates me to sell more and set my goals, is the reward that I allow myself through my efforts. I know new people and establishing new friendships. And I know that behind this product is a human being who performs it with affection.

It helps many families who have lost their jobs and even those who for one reason or another can not go out to work as a disability.

Did you know that mass production is a major cause of global warming and the poisoning of our air, water and soil? Every item you make or purchase from a small-scale independent artist or crafter strikes a small blow to the forces of mass production.

The recipient of the handmade gift receives something that is one of a kind, and made with care and attention that can be seen and touched. It is the result of skill and craftsmanship that is absent in the world of large-scale manufacturing.

If you buy online you got the chance to avoid the parking lots and long lines of the big chain stores in favor of something more meaningful. In another hand when you buy at a small business crafts you feel the satisfaction of supporting an artist or crafter directly.

Of course at the same time you’re helping local shops and the economy of your community. Provide role models to families whom have low income, so they can develop their own business. Try to buy handmade products that come with little packaging, so you will also cut down on waste production and energy use!

And believe it or not you can buy things that you won't find in any other place. You can get goodies according to your home decor. Photos above are just a few handmade things I have bought online.

What goes around comes around...
