Go green!

1. DO A "WRAP FREE" GIFT. Use all that newspaper you have in a bin ready to be recycled. Over 38,000 miles of ribbon alone is thrown away during the holiday season. Don't contribute to the waste.

2. BE FULLY LOADED. Do full loads of laundry, not just a bunch of little ones. You save energy (yours and fuel) and time.

3. GET VIRTUAL, MAN. Put bank accounts and statements on line. Get rid of that monthly paper clog.

Change the light bulb

1. Have a pad and attached pen on the refrigerator to note when something is done or running low and take the pad to the supermarket. This cuts down on food and time waste!

2. CHANGE LIGHT BULBS to low energy ones. It saves you time and money. (They last longer and don't burn out as quickly).

How to choose bracelets

• When purchasing bracelets, you'll need to decide where you're going to wear them, and how noticeable you want them to be. The availability of size and shape is endless - you can go from large bangle bracelets to dainty gem bracelets. If it is a slip-on bracelet, be sure that it will fit over your hand. Make certain to measure your wrist as the fit of a bracelet is very important. Too large and it will look sloppy and may even slide off. Too small and it can constrict your wrist movement.

• Your hands are your expressive area and many of us "talk with our hands." (they are also the smallest part of our body!) Try wearing three bracelets on one wrist - its a sign of power. They don't have to match either so step out and do something different. Don't forget to wear a dainty bracelet with your watch.

Cleaning stone beads

• Immerse stones beads in warm, soapy water and scrub them gently with a soap brush. Then rinse the beads and place them on a soft towel to dry.
• Most stone beads can be ultrasonic cleaned as well. Please note: beads that are dyed or organic (amber, bone, coral, ivory, opal pearls or turquoise, for example) can be damaged if cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaner. Also, dyed stones should not be steam-cleaned.
